Band D – Reduced Preference.
The PPP Allocations Policy includes a reduced preference Band D. This part of the policy will be implemented on Tuesday 10th February 2026.
What this means:
- If you refuse a number of reasonable offers, you may be moved to Band D.
- The number of refusals allowed depends on your priority band:
- Band A - 1 refusal (none if homeless or owed a homelessness duty).
- Band B - 2 refusals (1 if homeless or owed a homelessness duty)
- Band C – 3 refusals.
- Band D – No cap.
- Any unreasonable refusals for properties advertised from 10th February 2026 will count towards Band D placement.
- Any unreasonable refusals for properties advertised before 10th February 2026 will not count towards Band D placement.
Applicants placed in Band D will remain there for 12 months, unless their circumstances change and they have a higher housing need than they had before being placed in Band D.
Please note the PPP policy states applicants must renew their application every 12 months. Failure to renew your form will result in your application being closed. Please ensure you renew your form if you wish to remain on the register, please click on the link https://www.propertypoolplus.org.uk/content/Quickguides/Renewals for further information.
