Using Artificial Intelligence in reviews

Using Artificial Intelligence to write your request for a PPP decision review.

We have seen an increase in customers using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to draft PPP decision review requests. If you are using AI to do this, we want to make you aware of the risks, and what to look out for if using AI.

We know some people find AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot helpful when compiling review requests. However, we want to hear why you feel a decision about your case is wrong in your own words. This helps us to understand things from your point of view.  Using AI tools is ok, but please be aware that AI can:

  • make review requests too long or complicated.
  • include legal language or references that are not needed or legally incorrect.
  • delay how quickly we deal with your review or mean we ask you to send it again.

Why you need to be careful.

  • Information you provide to AI is used to train AI systems and may be processed outside of the UK - this can cause data privacy issues. Do not include personal details in AI tools, such as:
    • name
    • addresses
    • NI numbers
    • other information that could identify you
  • Only add your personal details when you submit your final review request to PPP.
  • AI-generated text can include errors, misleading statements, or legal references that are incorrect and may inadvertently increase your expectations
  • You remain responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit.

Tips for using AI safely when writing a decision review request.

Focus on the circumstances of your case - Explain why you believe the decision on your Property Pool Plus application is wrong.

  • Stick to the facts - Only include the actual circumstances of your case.
  • Avoid legal wording - Do not ask AI to add laws or formal legal language.
  • Check your review request before sending it - Make sure it is accurate and does not include misleading or unsupported claims.

Example prompts you can use:

When drafting your complaint, do not include personal details. Use placeholders such as “[the Property Pool Plus officer]” or “[my relative]” instead.

You can try prompts like these:

Set out why you think the decision on your housing application is incorrect.

Help me turn these issues into clear sentences. Focus on the facts only.

Write in plain English.

Help me describe why I think the decision on my priority for rehousing is incorrect, clearly, and simply, in my own words.

Explain the impact of your housing situation on you and your household.

Help me explain how my current housing situation affects me, and how a move to a different property would improve things.

Turn it into a decision review request.

Rewrite this as a clear decision review request. Do not add new information. Keep it professional but not too formal.
